Japan Post Bank aka Yuucho Ginko started a new service from January, 2009 to let its account holders to bank transfer between other banks in Japan. Until this year, we were only able to transfer money within Japan Post Bank.

To use this new service, you’ll need to find out your new account numbers required when receiving money from other banks.

First visit this page, and click the green button.

振込（他の金融機関口座への送金）－ゆうちょ銀行 via kwout

On the next page, you’ll type in your current (old) account number in the fields. Leave the middle field blank if your current number doesn’t have anything for it.

Once you type in, click the green button to proceed to preview, and click OK.
